After six years of early access, Craftopia is making its 1.0 launch sometime

It would be easy to have forgotten entirely about Craftopia, particularly after Pocketpair’s other survival sandbox absolutely exploded in popularity across its own early access development and into its own full release. But soon it will be the arguably lesser-loved sibling of the developer’s catalog to have its turn, as the game confirmed a 1.0 release in 2027.

The announcement was made as the game entered its sixth year of early access development, with an unsurprising look back at the journey for both the game and Pocketpair as a whole to mark the anniversary. The developers also took the time to apologize for the perception that Craftopia was being ignored, assured fans that Pocketpair’s growth has actually helped its development, and acknowledged that comms for the game have been lacking.

As for what Craftopia 1.0 will bring, the devs point out that most of the full release will focus on polish, refining the game’s experience, and addressing outstanding issues over “adding as much new content as possible,” though there will still be some new things coming. The devs also confirm that the 1.0 release will arrive to Xbox players in the same 2027 time frame.

“These past six years have changed Pocketpair enormously, and none of that would have been possible without the people who played Craftopia, sent us feedback, reported bugs, created videos and guides, shared the game with friends, and continued supporting us throughout its development,” the announcement closes. “Craftopia will always be an important part of Pocketpair and a game that is very dear to us. […] For now, thank you for six incredible years.”
