Publisher Megabit and Development Team Red Thread Games have shared a new trailer for Hello Sunshine, a co-operative survival game set in set in a world where the sun will literally kill you during the PC Gaming Show: Tokyo Direct.

In Hello Sunshine, players walk in the shadow of their giant robot companion across a scorched world, whether playing alone or with a friend in co-op. There is one simple rule: stay out of the sun. Step outside the robot’s shade during the day and players will find that the punishing heat will eventually kill them; remain close, and they might last until nightfall.

We’ve already enjoyed a deeper look at Hello Sunshine during Gamescom earlier this year, where Red Thread Games took us on a tour of this surprising twist on survival games.

Per a press release, the new footage offers a “deeper look at the wasteland left behind by Sunshine, following the player as she scavenges crumbling settlements, salvage parts from downed war machines, and leans on her towering robot companion for shade, protection, and survival against the relentless heat.“

It also teases a little more when it comes to the relationship between survivor and giant robot companion, with footage of new scenes showing the robot being a little less indifferent to our existence.

Hello Sunshine is coming along at some point in 2027, but you can go ahead and wishlist on Steam today.
