The Walking Dead has never been short of walkers, questionable decisions and people who really should know better than to make that much noise. Now, The Walking Dead: Streets Of Survival puts the iconic AMC universe into a hard-hitting arcade beat ’em up, allowing players to settle the apocalypse with fists, firearms, blades and a considerable amount of undead trouble.

Available now for £16.99, the game launches on Xbox Series X|S, PC, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch, with Xbox Play Anywhere support. A Deluxe Edition is also available for £24.99, adding extra content for players looking to take their walker-bashing further.

Welcome To The Apocalypse, Again

Inspired by the events of the All Out War storyline, Streets Of Survival reimagines the conflict between Alexandria’s survivors and the Saviors. Players will fight through familiar locations from the show, including the Sanctuary, Hilltop and Alexandria, while dealing with environmental hazards, explosive set pieces and plenty of things attempting to eat them.

The campaign features threats and surprises drawn from across AMC’s The Walking Dead, combining recognisable story elements with a more action-focused approach. This isn’t about carefully rationing every bullet while hiding in a cupboard. It’s about fighting for every inch of ground and making sure the walkers don’t get the final word.

Choose Your Survivor And Start Swinging

The game features several iconic characters, each with their own fighting style, statistics and signature abilities. Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon and Michonne are available to play, while Negan can be unlocked later.

Rick brings his trusty magnum, Daryl has his crossbow and Michonne arrives with her katana. Negan, naturally, has Lucille waiting in the wings.

Combat combines melee attacks, ranged weapons, crushing combos and devastating finishers. Players will need to manage overwhelming walker swarms alongside hostile Saviors, adapting their approach as different enemies and situations appear.

The campaign also includes boss encounters against powerful walkers such as Winslow and the Well Walker. The Saviors have their own major confrontations, with Negan and Simon appearing in multi-phase battles designed to test timing, strategy and survival skills.

Built For Repeat Runs

Streets Of Survival isn’t intended to be a one-and-done stroll through the apocalypse. Multiple difficulty levels encourage players to master each character’s moveset, while an optional Easy Mode provides a more accessible route for those who would rather enjoy the action without quite so much punishment.

The Deluxe Edition includes the Arcade Apocalypse Pack, featuring two weapon skins, a Civic Republic Military Rick character skin, the Walker Pit endless survival mode, Hell On Earth difficulty and a digital soundtrack.

The Arcade Apocalypse Pack is also available separately for £11.99.

Can The Dead Survive This Beat ’Em Up?

With its familiar characters, recognisable locations and arcade-focused combat, The Walking Dead: Streets Of Survival takes a different route through AMC’s zombie-infested world. Instead of simply trying to survive another day, players can take the fight directly to the walkers and the Saviors alike.

The Standard Edition offers the main experience, while the Deluxe Edition adds further challenges for those who want to discover how long they can last when the apocalypse gets even less forgiving. Just keep an eye on Lucille – Negan probably won’t appreciate anyone borrowing it.

The Walking Dead: Streets Of Survival is now on the Xbox Store, playable on Xbox Series X|S, PC and Play Anywhere. There is no Game Pass support at launch. You’ll also find it on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.
